Terms of service
These terms apply when you use Letwarden on this website or through ChatGPT. Letwarden is operated by Eshmere Ltd, trading as Letwarden (company number 17239365). By using the service you agree to them.
1. What Letwarden does
Letwarden gives general information about the legal requirements for private rented homes in England, calculates due dates from the details you give, sends reminders, and passes quote requests to independent engineers.
2. Not legal advice
Results are general information based on legislation and official guidance at the date shown. They are not legal advice and may not cover every circumstance. You remain responsible for your property’s compliance. Take professional advice before acting on anything important, such as a possession claim.
3. Accuracy of what you tell us
Results depend on the dates and answers you give. Check them against your certificates. We aren’t responsible for results based on inaccurate information, or for changes in the law after the date of a check.
4. Engineer visits
When you request a quote we pass your request to an independent engineer registered for that work (for example Gas Safe for gas, or a registered electrician or accredited energy assessor). The engineer sends a fixed-price quote. If you accept, the engineer carries out the work under the terms in their quote, and payment is made as set out in it. Nothing is booked until you accept. If something goes wrong with a visit, tell us and we’ll help resolve it.
5. Autopilot subscription
- Autopilot costs £6 per property per month, or £60 per property per year, paid in advance through Stripe.
- It renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time, and it ends at the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- If you’re a consumer, you can cancel within 14 days of first subscribing for a full refund, less the value of any service already provided.
- We’ll tell you at least 30 days before any price change.
6. Reminders
We send reminders on a best-efforts basis. A missed or late reminder does not change your legal obligations, so keep your own record of key dates too.
7. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service, try to break its security, submit other people’s details without permission, or use it to harass anyone.
8. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we aren’t liable for indirect losses, lost rent or penalties arising from the matters in sections 2, 3 and 6.
9. Changes and ending
We may update these terms and will show the date at the top. We may suspend access for misuse.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
